Pain after a crash often arrives days later, once the adrenaline has gone. We examine, treat and document injuries from motor vehicle accidents. Your auto policy, an attorney letter of protection, health insurance, or self-pay may cover your care.

After a collision your body floods with adrenaline, and adrenaline is very good at hiding injury. It is common to feel shaken but basically fine at the scene, then wake up two or three days later unable to turn your head. That delay is normal. It is not a sign the injury is minor.
Waiting creates a second problem that has nothing to do with your body. Insurance adjusters look at the gap between the crash date and the first medical visit, and a long gap gets used to argue that you were not really hurt or that something else caused the pain. The same applies to gaps in the middle of treatment. Being examined early, and attending consistently, protects both the recovery and the record of it.
Texas also sets a two year limit from the date of the accident for filing a personal injury claim. That is a legal deadline rather than a medical one, and your attorney handles it, but it is worth knowing the clock exists.
Even if the pain seems manageable, an examination establishes what was injured and when.
This is general information and not legal or insurance advice. For your specific claim, speak with your insurer or an attorney.
Crash injuries are not distributed like everyday aches. A low speed rear end impact puts force through the neck in a way that nothing in ordinary life does, which is why these injuries behave differently and are so often dismissed early.
The most common collision injury and the most frequently dismissed. Stiffness, limited rotation, and headaches that start at the base of the skull.
From muscle strain through to disc involvement, including pain that moves into the hip or down one leg.
Headaches that began after the crash and did not exist before it, often originating in the neck rather than the head.
The restraint that protected you also concentrates force across one shoulder and the chest wall.
Pins and needles into an arm or hand, which usually points to nerve involvement and should be examined rather than waited out.
Knees against the dash, wrists braced on the wheel, and the strains that show up once you start moving normally again.
Your first visit is an examination, not an adjustment on the way out the door. Nothing is treated before we understand what was injured.
Direction of impact, speed, headrest position, whether you saw it coming, where you felt it first. These details change what we look for, which is why the exam is specific to collisions rather than generic.
Range of motion, orthopedic and neurological testing, palpation, and posture. Findings are measured and written down, not estimated.
In language you can repeat to someone else. What is injured, what the plan is, roughly how long it should take, and what would make us change course.
Some injuries need imaging, an orthopedic opinion or a neurologist. If that is what your examination indicates, we will say so at the first visit rather than after eight weeks of treatment.
This is the question people are too polite to ask on the phone, so here is the answer up front. There are several ways care after a collision can be paid for in Texas. Your own auto policy may already cover it, and we also accept attorney letters of protection, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and self-pay.
Texas law requires every auto policy to include Personal Injury Protection unless you specifically rejected it in writing. Most people never rejected it, which means most people have it and do not know.
PIP pays regardless of who caused the crash. You do not have to wait for the other driver’s insurer to accept responsibility, which can take months. It covers medical treatment and a portion of lost income. Insurers are not required to provide more than $2,500 of it, though many policies carry higher limits, so it is worth checking what yours actually says.
We verify your PIP coverage before your first appointment. Bring your auto insurance declarations page or ID card, and your claim number if one is open. With your permission, we contact your insurer to confirm your PIP and MedPay coverage and limits.

MedPay works similarly and also pays regardless of fault, but it covers medical treatment only rather than lost income. Some policies carry one, some the other, and some both.
If you are working with an attorney, treatment can often proceed under a letter of protection, which means care now and payment from the settlement later rather than from you during your recovery.
We accept letters of protection. If you have an attorney, we coordinate directly with their office on records and billing, so you can focus on your recovery.

If you carry UnitedHealthcare insurance, your post-accident care may be covered directly through your health plan. Bring your insurance card and we will verify your benefits before your first visit.

Diversified, Gonstead and Thompson techniques
Accident care in Dallas has a reputation, and some of it is earned. High volume clinics, a treatment plan written before the examination, and the same thirty visits for everyone regardless of what is wrong with them. That is not what happens here.
Dr. Demetris Elia, DC, CFMP, examines you and treats you. You are not handed to a rotating series of assistants after the first appointment.
Visit frequency follows the findings and is reassessed as you progress. If you are improving faster than expected, you come in less, and we will tell you when you no longer need to come at all.
Manual adjustment using Diversified, Gonstead and Thompson techniques, soft tissue and myofascial work including Active Release Technique, and corrective exercise. Not a machine and a heat pack.
Some collision injuries need imaging or a specialist rather than chiropractic care. Saying so early costs you less than finding out late.
An injury claim is settled on the record. Dates, objective findings, measurable changes over time, and a clear account of how the injury affected what you could do. Plenty of clinics treat well and document loosely, and the patient only discovers this months later when the claim is questioned.
We document from the first visit. Examination findings and objective measurements rather than impressions, progress notes that show change over time, and records provided promptly when your attorney or insurer requests them.
Measured range of motion and orthopedic testing, not general impressions.
Notes that show what changed and when, which is what an adjuster looks for.
We coordinate with your attorney’s office so you are not relaying messages while you are hurt.
Tell us the date of the accident when you book so we can prioritize the appointment.
We verify your PIP, MedPay, health plan or attorney letter of protection before you arrive, so your first conversation here is about your injury rather than paperwork.
A full assessment, findings explained in plain language, and a plan built around them.
Care that is adjusted as you progress, with records kept to the standard a claim requires.
Tell us what happened and we will tell you whether this is something we can help with.
Contact Aspire Health Clinic promptly if you develop pain, stiffness or difficulty moving after a collision. An evaluation can help identify your needs and determine whether chiropractic care, imaging or another medical provider is appropriate. Severe or worsening symptoms require urgent medical attention.
Yes. Neck pain, stiffness and other symptoms may develop hours or days after a collision. If you initially felt fine but later notice discomfort, headaches or restricted movement, contact a healthcare professional for guidance.
Dr. Demetris Elia will discuss the accident, your symptoms and your medical history, then perform an examination tailored to your concerns. This may include movement measurements, orthopedic testing and neurological screening. We explain the findings and recommendations before beginning treatment. If you need imaging or another specialist, we discuss that with you.
Chiropractic care may be an option for certain muscle and joint symptoms associated with whiplash. Your examination helps determine whether it is appropriate for you. Depending on the findings, recommendations may include manual treatment, soft tissue work, exercises or referral to another healthcare provider.
Not everyone needs imaging after a car accident. The decision depends on the circumstances of the collision, your symptoms, medical history and examination findings. If a fracture or another serious injury is suspected, further medical evaluation takes priority over treatment.
Your payment responsibility depends on your coverage and billing arrangement. Possible options include Personal Injury Protection (PIP), Medical Payments coverage (MedPay), health insurance, an accepted attorney letter of protection or self-pay. Contact our office before your visit so we can verify available benefits and explain any expected costs. Verification does not guarantee insurance payment.
Yes. Aspire Health Clinic accepts attorney letters of protection, subject to review and an agreed billing arrangement. If you have an attorney, we can coordinate records and billing with their office with your authorization. A letter of protection defers payment under its terms; it does not make treatment free or guarantee a settlement.
You can contact us to discuss an evaluation whether or not you have an attorney. Legal representation is your decision. Our role is to evaluate your condition, explain appropriate care options and document your treatment.
The number and frequency of visits depend on your examination findings, symptoms, daily limitations and response to care. We discuss an initial plan and reassess your progress. Recommendations may change as you improve or if another approach becomes more appropriate.
Bring a photo ID, your auto and health insurance information, and your claim number if available. Relevant emergency room records, imaging reports, a medication list and your attorney’s contact information are also helpful. If you are missing documents, call us so we can explain what is needed.
Seek emergency medical care after a collision if you experience a severe or worsening headache, confusion, loss of consciousness, new arm or leg weakness, difficulty walking, or loss of bladder or bowel control. Call 911 if you need emergency assistance. A chiropractic appointment should not delay emergency evaluation.
